Joshua Lenchus DO, RPh, FACP, SFHM

Professional Bio

Joshua D. Lenchus, DO, RPh, FACP, SFHM, serves as Medical Director of Aetna’s Florida market in the Southeast region and is the AOA’s Third Vice President and Trustee. Previously, he was Senior VP and Chief Medical Officer for Broward Health and a hospitalist at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he became an associate professor and residency program director.

Passionate about patient safety, Dr. Lenchus developed a simulation-based bedside procedural curriculum in 2007, improving procedural education and reducing complications. This program, recognized nationally, has been implemented at institutions like UAB and VCU.

Dr. Lenchus made history as the first DO President of the Florida Medical Association and is a past president of FOMA. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Society of Hospital Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. His leadership roles include serving as a past Regent and Chair of the AOA Public Policy Committee.

Throughout his career, Dr. Lenchus has received numerous accolades, including induction into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and multiple teaching awards. He secured over $2 million in grant funding, published in peer-reviewed journals, and received the 2016 BAYADA Award for Technological Innovation in Health Care Practice.

As a sought-after speaker, Dr. Lenchus covers topics such as opioids, leadership, ultrasound, and legislative advocacy. He earned his DO degree from Nova Southeastern University Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine, his pharmacy degree from the University of Florida, and completed his internal medicine residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
